ICNA Relief's Back2School Program Unites Communities Nationwide to Prepare Students for Success
More than 30,000 backpacks will be distributed through over 45 locations as communities invest in the next generation.
NEW YORK, NY, July 31, 2026 -- As students prepare to return to the classroom, ICNA Relief USA is hosting its annual Back2School Program, uniting volunteers, businesses, community organizations, and people of all faiths and backgrounds to ensure children have the school supplies they need to begin the academic year with confidence.
This year, ICNA Relief will distribute more than 30,000 backpacks filled with essential school supplies through 45+ locations nationwide. While the program's impact continues to grow, its greatest strength is the communities that make it possible.
From local businesses hosting donation drives to volunteers organizing distribution events and families contributing supplies, the Back2School Program demonstrates what can be achieved when communities come together to invest in children's futures.
"Every backpack represents more than school supplies, it represents a community coming together to tell a child, 'We believe in you,'" said Zoubeida Ahmed, Director of the Back2School Program. "When neighbors, businesses, faith communities, and volunteers work side by side, we create opportunities that extend far beyond the first day of school."
A key component of the program is ICNA Relief's Ambassador Program, which empowers volunteers to organize local school supply drives, engage community partners, recruit volunteers, and coordinate backpack distributions. By equipping local leaders to serve their own communities, ICNA Relief strengthens partnerships and creates lasting opportunities for civic engagement.
As families continue to face rising costs for school supplies, ICNA Relief remains committed to ensuring financial hardship does not prevent children from starting school prepared to learn. Through the generosity of donors, volunteers, ambassadors, and community partners, the Back2School Program continues to strengthen communities while helping students begin the school year with dignity, confidence, and hope.
