Hale Law Names Elizabeth Shannon 2026 Hale Helps™ Teacher of the Year in Sarasota
Local educator recognized through community nominations and public voting across Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties
SARASOTA, FL, May 28, 2026 -- Hale Law, a personal injury law firm headquartered in Sarasota, Florida, announced today that Elizabeth Shannon has been named the 2026 Hale Helps™ Teacher of the Year.
Shannon was selected through a community-driven process that drew nominations and public votes from parents, students, and residents across Sarasota, Manatee, and Charlotte counties.
Shannon receives a free cruise for two, provided as a $1,000 cruise credit through Expedia Cruises of Sarasota. The credit covers cruise fare for two, including port taxes, fees, and prepaid gratuities.
The Hale Helps™ Teacher of the Year award, now in its third year, invites the public to nominate outstanding K-12 educators at public and private schools in the Sarasota, Bradenton, and Charlotte County area.
This year's nomination period ran from March 1 through March 29. The five teachers with the most nominations advanced as finalists, and community voting between April 7 and April 26 determined the winner.
The 2026 program built on growing community participation since the award launched in 2024. Amanda Bertrand, a kindergarten teacher with 19 years of experience in Charlotte and Manatee counties, received the 2025 Hale Helps™ Teacher of the Year honor.
Both years, four additional finalists received honorable mention recognition on the Hale Law website.
The Hale Helps™ Teacher of the Year program is part of Hale Law's Hale Helps™ community initiative, which also includes the Hale Helps™ Scholarship for local high school seniors and the Hale Helps™ Backpack Giveaway for families across Southwest Florida.
