President Trump has made birthright citizenship a central issue of his immigration agenda, signing an executive order that would deny automatic citizenship to children born in the United States if neither parent is a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident. The policy is currently under review by the U.S. Supreme Court and could reshape how the 14th Amendment is interpreted moving forward.

"As a member of Congress, I will support legislation that makes it clear: citizenship in the United States is a privilege tied to allegiance — not simply geography," Adams said. "We cannot continue policies that encourage illegal entry and strain our schools, healthcare system, and economy."
Adams also pointed to the broader national implications, noting that the current system is believed to impact hundreds of thousands of births each year and remains a key factor in the ongoing immigration debate.
