LOUISVILLE, KY, March 18, 2026 -- Air Distributors Company, Inc., an authorized GE Zoneline PTAC distributor since the 1990s, today announced full availability of GE Appliances' updated Zoneline Series PTAC platform. The lineup includes the new AZES fixed-speed electric heat series, the AZHS fixed-speed heat pump series, and the AZVS Perfect Control variable-speed inverter series — GE's first PTAC built on true inverter compressor technology, rated at SEER2 16+ and capable of heat pump operation down to 0°F.
All three series fit the same standard 42″ × 16″ wall sleeve that GE Zoneline has used since 1961, making them direct drop-in replacements for the legacy AZ45 and AZ65 series without requiring sleeve modifications or structural changes.
THE AZVS PERFECT CONTROL SERIES: A NEW STANDARD IN PTAC EFFICIENCY
The AZVS is the centerpiece of the Series A update. Unlike conventional PTACs that cycle a fixed-speed compressor on and off, the AZVS uses a variable-speed twin-rotor compressor with dual electronic expansion valves (EEV) to continuously modulate output between 4,000 and 15,500 BTU — precisely matching actual room load at any given moment.
The result is a PTAC that maintains set-point more accurately, runs quieter, and consumes substantially less energy over a cooling or heating season. Key ratings include:

Alongside the AZVS, GE Appliances has updated the conventional PTAC and PTHP lines to the Series A platform under new model designations.
AZES Series (Electric Heat)
The AZES replaces the legacy AZ45 series with improved EER ratings across all BTU classes. Available in 7,000 through 15,000 BTU at 208/230V, the AZES achieves EER ratings up to 13.4 at 208V — meaningful efficiency gains for properties with large unit counts. Heat output is determined by the power connection kit selected (15A, 20A, or 30A circuit), keeping electrical infrastructure requirements flexible.
AZHS Series (Heat Pump / PTHP)
The AZHS replaces the AZ65 series and adds several operational improvements: three-stage heating logic, reverse-cycle defrost, and a "Boost Heat" mode that runs the heat pump and supplemental electric heat simultaneously for borderline cold-weather conditions. The heat pump operates down to 25°F before transitioning to full electric backup. The AZHS is available in 208/230V and 265V configurations, covering the full range of commercial electrical installations. COP ratings reach 4.2 at 208V on certain models.
