After her father disappears, Ellie goes to live with her eccentric uncle who spends his nights working on strange equipment in his cellar. When she discovers her uncle has a time machine down there she goes back in time seeking a hero to help her save her father.
How do you explain fascism to a child in a way that they can understand and yet not leave them with nightmares? In this middle grade time travel novel readers live the history of the post-World War II division of Germany and the terrors of the totalitarian regime that controlled East Berlin.

About the Author: Robert C. Edgar is a professor of writing and popular culture in the York Centre for Writing at York St John University, UK, primarily teaching creative writing. He has also edited and written works on screenwriting, directing fiction, the language of film, American cinema, science fiction, folk horror, and music memoir, and is the co-convener of the Music Memoir Research Group and the Hauntology and Spectrality Research Group. He is also one of the series editors for the Bloomsbury Academic series: Spectres, Hauntings and Horrors.
