The car retains its original four-speed manual transaxle and rides on drum brakes at all four corners. Chrome trim, dual side mirrors, VW-branded mudflaps, and a no-frills white repaint reflect the utilitarian elegance of the model. Inside, the four-spoke steering wheel frames a 170-km/h speedometer, analog clock, and a straightforward fuel gauge—hallmarks of the period's clean design ethos. The five-digit odometer reads just 54,000 kilometers (~34,000 miles).
