Freedom Fighting Missionaries, Cardinal Innovations, Walmart, and Mecklenburg County Partner for a Community-Based COVID-19 Vaccination Event

Making the vaccine more easily accessible to underserved communities.

CHARLOTTE, NC, May 13, 2021 -- Freedom Fighting Missionaries and Mecklenburg County Public Health are partnering to organize All Charlotte, All Together, a community-based COVID-19 vaccine event. In an effort to make the vaccine more easily accessible to underserved communities, the event will take place at the Movement School East on May 15 from noon until 4 p.m. Local healthcare volunteers will be available to provide information and answer questions from 2 p.m. until 6 p.m.

"We are thankful for each of the thousands of individual donors who sustain us daily, but we must loudly applaud Cardinal Healthcare Innovations for taking a bold step forward in their journey to be supportive of Black lives in our community," said Kenny Robinson, President at Freedom Fighting Missionaries.

Freedom Fighting Missionaries acknowledges the need for more public vaccination drives and educational events in Black communities across the city. The organization hopes to see the deployment of vaccination vans throughout Mecklenburg County in the near future.

The free COVID-19 vaccine event is open to anyone age 16 and over. Appointments are available at www.MeckNC.gov/COVID-19 or by calling 980-314-9400 (option 3 for English and option 8 for Spanish). Walk-ins will also be accepted. Charlotte residents who need transportation assistance to the clinic should call the Mecklenburg Transportation System at 980-314-7600.
