Herrman & Herrman Sponsors Voter Registration Events, Encourages Early Voting

CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, October 23, 2020 -- The 2020 general election may be the most significant of our lifetimes. It's important for all citizens to exercise their right to vote and to cast their ballots early to avoid standing in long lines on election day.
The law firm of Herrman & Herrman, P.L.L.C. is committed to encouraging voter participation in South Texas and urges all registered voters to take advantage of Early Voting. The law firm held voter registration drives at the Brewster Street Ice House-Southside in Corpus Christi on Oct. 2 and at Texas A&M University on Oct. 5.
"We should vote early and avoid the long lines," says Gregory Herrman, managing partner at Herrman & Herrman, P.L.L.C. "If you wait until election day, you are going to have to social distance and there are going to be long, long lines."
The early voting period in Texas began Oct. 13 and continues through Oct. 30. Registered voters may vote early at any early voting location in the county where they are registered to vote.
By voting early, Herrman said that voters can reduce the risk of potential exposure to the COVID-19 virus from standing in long lines and being around crowds of people.
Herrman said voters should be aware that the state of Texas no longer offers voters the option of one punch, straight-ticket voting for every candidate of a major political party.
In this year's election, voters will have to go down the ballot and vote in each individual race.
"We think the down ballot races are just as important as the presidential race," Herrman said. "Make sure you go down the ballot and vote for candidates in each race."
