Attorney Benjamin T. Cochran Selected as 2020 North Carolina Super Lawyer

Super Lawyers has recognized Mr. Cochran's legal skills each year since 2010

RALEIGH, NC, March 30, 2020 -- The law firm Hardison & Cochran, Attorneys at Law is pleased to announce that managing partner Benjamin T. Cochran has been recognized by the Super Lawyers publication as a 2020 North Carolina Super Lawyer.

Super Lawyers is a rating service that compiles lists of outstanding lawyers throughout the United States. The rating service recognizes lawyers in more than 70 practice areas who have demonstrated a high level of professional achievement and are recognized by their legal peers.

Super Lawyers utilizes a multi-part selection process that includes nominations by legal peers, independent research and peer evaluation.

Mr. Cochran has been recognized by Super Lawyers each year since 2010. He was listed as a Rising Star from 2010-2014 and has been honored as an N.C. Super Lawyer in the area of workers' compensation annually since 2015.

The Super Lawyers NC list represents no more than 5 percent of the attorneys in the state. The final lists are published in state and regional editions of Super Lawyers Magazine.

In addition to the listing by Super Lawyers, Mr. Cochran is included in The Best Lawyers in America 2020 in the "Workers' Compensation—Claimants" practice area. A listing in Best Lawyers, a peer-review publication, is viewed by attorneys as a notable professional honor conferred on an attorney by his or her peers. Mr. Cochran has been recognized in each edition of The Best Lawyers in America since 2013.

Mr. Cochran represents workers who have suffered work-related injuries or occupational diseases, and then had their claims for workers' compensation benefits denied. Mr. Cochran is recognized by the North Carolina State Bar as a board-certified specialist in North Carolina workers' compensation law. With his knowledge of workers' compensation law, he can help injured workers understand their legal rights and the benefits they are entitled to after on-the-job accidents and injuries.

Most employers in North Carolina are required to maintain workers' compensation insurance to provide benefits for full- and part-time employees who develop work-related injuries or illnesses. But some businesses and their insurance administrators may dispute a claim for benefits. Mr. Cochran has helped many injured workers appeal denied workers' comp claims and obtain the benefits available by law.

He is a member of the American Trial Lawyers Association and the North Carolina Advocates for Justice. He is a graduate of the University of North Carolina and the Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law at Campbell University.
