The national content exhibition '2022 Gwangju ACE Fair' was held on the 22nd... 30 participating countries around the world, 500 booths opened!

The 3rd ACE Illustration Fair was also held at the same time, with popular artists such as Na-young Woo, Seung-hoon Na, Song-I Park, Noma, Min-ho Myung and the likes participating as invited artists.


    LOS ANGELES, CA, September 28, 2022 -- The '2022 Gwangju ACE Fair (Asia Content & Entertainment Fair)', a comprehensive domestic content exhibition, was held on September 22 (Thursday) at the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju.

Held until the 25th, the 2022 Gwangju ACE Fair is organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and by the Gwangju Metropolitan City, and is sponsored by Kimdaejung Convention Center, Gwangju Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency, Korea Cable TV Broadcasting Association, Gwangju Design Promotion Agency, and Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA). The event is in its 17th year this year.

As digital transformation has become more significant in all industries, this exhibition is related to all digital content items such as broadcasting, animation/character, AI, metaverse, VR/AR, and games under the theme of 'digital transformation and expansion of content value'. 398 companies from 36 countries exhibited new technologies and new products through 485 booths.

With the growing changes in the content industry such as online video service (OTT), metaverse, non-fungible token (NFT), and content monetization – which have become major content platforms – many related companies participated in this year's ACE Fair, attracting attention. In the OTT field, many OTT platform companies such as Wave, ENA, and Tving participated. In the metaverse field, Unity, Microsoft, NVIDIA, etc. participated. Beeblock in the NFT field and The SMC in the content monetization field were also present at this exhibition.

Furthermore, a lot of technology-related companies such as 5G, AR, AI, and hologram participated in this ACE Fair, along with various K-content producers, agencies, creators, and developers such as broadcasting, animation, webtoon, and games. The 3rd ACE Illustration Fair was also held at the same time, with popular artists such as Na-young Woo, Seung-hoon Na, Song-I Park, Noma, Min-ho Myung and the likes participating as invited artists. They held an autograph signing event, and more than 35 artists participated to showcase their unique works.

The Gwangju Information Culture Industry Promotion Agency, one of the sponsors of the event, held the 'WAF (Web Animation Festival)'. They organized events to inspire artists' creativity through the WAF 2022 Conference and WAF Awards Ceremony. Moreover, other various events such as an illustration exhibition with NC Soft, a board game contest & hands-on exhibition, a cosplay festival, the 15th Youth Broadcasting Contents Contest, and an animation preview were all presented throughout the exhibition to welcome visitors.

'The 2nd CDC (Content Developer Conference)' invites domestic and foreign content experts to share global trends in related industries and obtain business insights under the theme of 'evolution of digital platform and future of content'. Netflix co-founding executive Mitch Lowe was the keynote speaker.

To support K-content export and investment, a customized business export conference was also held at the same time where domestic content-related companies and buyers met online and offline.

An official from the 2022 Gwangju ACE Fair said, "Last year, 351 companies from 30 countries participated, recording 570 business counseling and $187.2 million in export consultations, leading the K-content export and investment amid the COVID-19 pandemic. ACE Fair in 2022 will once again validate our competitiveness and future growth potential amid the craze of K-contents booming around the world. This will also serve as an opportunity for Gwangju ACE Fair to take a step forward as a global content festival."
