About the Author: With a B.S. in Wildlife and Fisheries Science from Texas A&M University and an M.A. in Biology from University of Colorado Denver, Sheridan Samano has years of experience observing bird behavior in the field. For more than a decade, she taught biology at Community College of Aurora and since 2002 she's taught classes highlighting Colorado's plant and animal communities for Denver Botanic Gardens. In 2012, she created a popular Birding and Beers Meetup group in the Denver Metro area that now has more than 1100 members.
