Video Game Veteran takes on Climate Change Denial and Inaction with The Climate Trail

The Climate Trail is a "good, realistic, and sobering" free game about the post-apocalyptic world we face if we continue our current path.

CARLSBAD, CA, October 07, 2019 -- William Volk has launched The Climate Trail. With gameplay reminiscent of the classic educational game The Oregon Trail, The Climate Trail allows players to experience an adventure where unfettered climate change has ravaged the planet. The tipping point we are now at with climate change inspired its creation.

The Climate Trail is an entirely free game with no advertising about climate refugees fleeing ever-worsening conditions after inaction on climate has rendered much of the USA (and the world) uninhabitable. The game combines the simulation game of the journey north with information about climate change and its effects. Game characters reveal how and why this climate apocalypse unfolded. The game is available for the iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac, PC and Linux systems.

"My goal was to create an emotional impact, weave in science, and produce a game that makes a difference," says William Volk, "If a party member dies, I want the player to think about their future and the future of our children. Trite as that sounds, this is what motivated me to fund and produce The Climate Trail," Volk added.
